Konstantin Chaikyn's watches at the SIAR exhibition in Mexico

It is common to think that the center of Haute Horlogerie is the Old World. In recent decades, watch companies, watchmakers, and lovers of haute horlogerie became popular far beyond the borders of Europe. Back in 2007, Salón Internacional Alta Relojería (SIAR) opened for the first time in Mexico. The International Salon of Haute Horlogerie is, perhaps, the most influential specialized forum in North America. Among the honored guests of the first SIAR's opening were Jack Heuer, the watch market's legend, and the American astronaut Eugene Andrew "Gene" Cernan, a participant of the Apollo 10 mission and the commander of the Apollo 17 mission, the last person who stepped on the Moon. Since then, the Salon has expanded, with leading watch brands and independent watchmakers taking part in it every year.

In 2021, the Salón Internacional Alta Relojería will take place in Mexico City from 19th to 21st of October. Russian watchmaker Konstantin Chaykin also joined the participant list. He is planning to present some of his new models to market experts, watchmakers, and journalists.

It is especially valuable that SIAR is a great chance to show the watch to the public, which until then had the opportunity to only get to know them virtually.
