Konstantin Chaykin at the Masters of Horology exhibition

From March 27 to April 2, 2023, at the IceBergues gallery in Geneva the Masters of Horology exhibition of high art of watchmaking will take place. It's the second such event organized by the Academy of Independent Watchmakers (AHCI). The IceBergues gallery, located in Geneve's historic Saint-Gervais district, known since XVI century as the watchmakers quarter. The visitors will be able to see the most interesting models of independent watchmakers and to discuss the latest watchmaking trends with them in person.
More than 25 independent watchmakers will present their recent works during the exhibition. Among them is the watchmaker and inventor Konstantin Chaykin. He brought to Masters of Horology his Harley Quinn watch, previously short-listed for the Grand рrix d'horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) in 2022.This is the first female character in his Wristmons collections. Other "wrist monsters" will also be exhibited, including the Joker Five, a model commemorating the fifth anniversary of the collection.
The most exciting new model Chaykin brings to Geneve will be the Smilodon watch. This is another addition to the bestiary, Chaykin's line of zoomorphic wristmons. Masters of Horology will be the first international event in which Konstantin Chaykin will exhibit this new timepiece.
The master has given his new wristmon the features of a long-extinct prehistoric predator, the smilodon, otherwise known as the saber-tooth tiger. Its open mouth houses the day of the week indicator developed by Chaykin. The master used the images of animals which may have been the smilodon's prey to indicate days of the week. These images, stylized to look like petroglyphs, were also designed by the master himself.
