Let’s make Halloween green again
Who said Halloween must be associated with orange and black? Konstantin Chaykin rejects stereotypes and blindly following recently established traditions – the celebration of the eve of the Feast of All Saints is also possible in green.After all, there was a time when Halloween was already green. Ireland was one of the countries where the celebration of Halloween emerged, and green is the colour with which the country is associated. However, there is not much substance to that simple coincidence. But another fact cannot be considered a coincidence – the famous Jack-o'-lantern, which changed our perceptions of the pumpkin so much that many people do not even realize that pumpkins can be eaten, was originally yellow-green. And those scary faces were cut out not from pumpkins, but from turnips. Only European immigrants in America - much later - introduced the tradition of using pumpkins for this.

Compared to the original design of the “Pumpkin Head Special Unique Piece Halloween-2017”, from which the tradition of Konstantin Chaykin’s special watches for All Saints Day started, the design of the case and the dial of the first “pumpkin” have been renewed to fit the new green mood that Konstantin Chaykin would like to express with this watch. The watch dial is again made in the style of a Jack-o'-lantern, which, according to legend, helped to ward off evil spirits.
Especially for the “Joker” and other models of the “Wristmons” collection Konstantin Chaykin developed a double-disc display for the hour and minute indications, as well as a moonphase indicator. In the construction and design of the movement, he was guided by the principles of haute horlogerie, despite the fact that the movement is hidden under an opaque dial. Konstantin Chaykin meticulously finished every part of the movement using classic techniques: perlage pearl textured grinding; fine longitudinal and circular grinding; abrasive blasting to a matte finish; a smooth handcrafted chamfer; engraving; polished screw holes, pins and jewels; spherical polishing of the axel tips; and galvanized rhodium plating. In total the module includes 8 jewels, designed to reduce friction, while the moonphase indicator is driven by a wheel with 59 teeth.

An incredible sight, this dial is worth seeing up close and in person. The glints and flashes of yellow-green light are literally breathtaking! The moon disc of the smiling moon phase indicator of Chaykin’s "Jokers" has turned green, receiving more texture and volume – it is exactly these qualities which are perceived by connoisseurs of haute horlogerie around the world as trademarks of the high-end dials of the "Jokers" and other Wristmons by Konstantin Chaykin.

The guilloche pattern used in the decoration of the dial is much more complicated this time – instead of a background of a uniform sunray pattern and matte orange colour, a double relief and semitransparent glossy lacquer coating was applied, giving an incredibly spectacular picture of shimmering yellow-green tones from light green to dark.
