Chaykin has chosen to cover the eyes of the Joker – the discs of his self-invented Joker-time indication system displaying the hours and minutes – with a luminescent coating. This gives a unique expression to the face-like dial of the watch not only when there is a low level of light, when the cold green glow of the Joker’s big, round eyes is sure to be the centre of attention while also helping to determine the correct time, but also in normal light, when the additional, subconsciously perceived luminophore illumination creates a particular and very expressive shade, harmonious with the black and emerald-green finish of the dial.
This Joker, as a stylish embodiment of the spirit of gambling and the casino, which undoubtedly suits the imposing black tones emphasised by accents of green and purple, will play by new rules. MOVEMENT
Especially for the “Joker” and other models of the “Wristmons” collection Konstantin Chaykin developed a double-disc display for the hour and minute indications, as well as a moonphase indicator. In the construction and design of the movement, he was guided by the principles of haute horlogerie, despite the fact that the movement is hidden under an opaque dial. Konstantin Chaykin meticulously finished every part of the movement using classic techniques: perlage pearl textured grinding; fine longitudinal and circular grinding; abrasive blasting to a matte finish; a smooth handcrafted chamfer; engraving; polished screw holes, pins and jewels; spherical polishing of the axel tips; and galvanized rhodium plating. In total the module includes 8 jewels, designed to reduce friction, while the moonphase indicator is driven by a wheel with 59 teeth.
The Joker Black Bet watch is equipped with an automatic К.07-0 caliber. The in-house Joker-indication module was designed and produced by Konstantin Chaykin.
