Russian inventor and watchmaker Konstantin Chaykin combines these two worlds with the cheerful yet occasionally sarcastic smile of the Joker’s moonphase indicator, creating a collectible watch inspired by the 2018 football World Cup in Russia. The “Joker Soccer” is a real fan. In his moving round hour- and minute-indicators, one can see reflections of a football, which has also replaced the moon of the moonphase indicator.

There is something special about watching the clock build. This is not just a mechanical process, but a real art, where the painstaking work of the master is combined with the precision of engineering thought. Assembling a watch is something that can fascinate, inspire, and give a sense of wonder.
СASE BACK
The Joker Soccer watch is produced in a limited edition of 11 pieces, reflecting the number of players in a football team. Around this time Konstantin Chaykin discovered another talent – he realised that he can not only make and design watches and their movements, but he can also invent watchstraps with no less success. His first branded watchstrap had been introduced a short time earlier – in March 2018 – when the Joker watchstrap with a tie (“Joker tie-strap”) was introduced at Basel World 2018. That is why, for the “Joker Soccer”, Konstantin Chaykin came up with an impressive burgundy-coloured watchstrap of high-quality leather with football-like stitching.
MOVEMENT
Especially for the “Joker” and other models of the “Wristmons” collection Konstantin Chaykin developed a double-disc display for the hour and minute indications, as well as a moonphase indicator. In the construction and design of the movement, he was guided by the principles of haute horlogerie, despite the fact that the movement is hidden under an opaque dial. Konstantin Chaykin meticulously finished every part of the movement using classic techniques: perlage pearl textured grinding; fine longitudinal and circular grinding; abrasive blasting to a matte finish; a smooth handcrafted chamfer; engraving; polished screw holes, pins and jewels; spherical polishing of the axel tips; and galvanized rhodium plating. In total the module includes 8 jewels, designed to reduce friction, while the moonphase indicator is driven by a wheel with 59 teeth.
