Joker Titanium

The choice of titanium for the “Joker Titanium Limited Edition” was not by chance. The use of this metal in aeronautical, marine and space engineering has always given clear advantages. In watchmaking, titanium is used as a lighter alternative to stainless steel. Slightly darker than steel, it is seen as being more technical, indeed brutal, rather than decorative. For the production of the titanium elements of the case for the “Joker Titanium Limited Edition”, Konstantin Chaykin developed special technology allowing the high standards of finishing seen in the steel versions of the “Joker” to be maintained in its titanium variant.

Konstantin Chaykin chose to retain the design elements on the bezel, which features the symbols of the “Five of a Kind” poker hand, the highest possible hand and one which is a symbol of incredible luck.

PRODUCTION

There is something special about watching the clock build. This is not just a mechanical process, but a real art, where the painstaking work of the master is combined with the precision of engineering thought. Assembling a watch is something that can fascinate, inspire, and give a sense of wonder.

СASE BACK

The case back features an engraved letter “J” in its centre, while the edge is inscribed with the unique serial number of the piece, which is limited to 88 in total.

MOVEMENT

Especially for the “Joker” and other models of the “Wristmons” collection Konstantin Chaykin developed a double-disc display for the hour and minute indications, as well as a moonphase indicator. In the construction and design of the movement, he was guided by the principles of haute horlogerie, despite the fact that the movement is hidden under an opaque dial. Konstantin Chaykin meticulously finished every part of the movement using classic techniques: perlage; fine longitudinal and circular grinding; abrasive blasting to a matte finish; a smooth handcrafted chamfer; engraving; polished screw holes, pins and jewels; spherical polishing of the axel tips; and galvanized rhodium plating.

Caliber: K07-0 automatic winding by Konstantin Chaykin manufacture
Power reserve: 38 hours when fully wound
Accuracy: +/-15 seconds per day

CASE

The dial of the “Joker Titanium Limited Edition” is decorated with a guilloche relief with step, as used to tremendous effect by the great Russian jeweller Karl Fabergé. Chaykin modified the “Clous de Paris” guilloche, using it to decorate the Joker’s nose. This technique is used only in the “Joker Titanium Limited Edition”.

Case dlimensions: diameter 42 millimetres; height 13.7 millimetres
